Meet the man behind the words

Meet the man behind the words

By Greg Dattilo, CEBS and Grant Dattilo

Dave Racer has many titles: husband, father, granddad, teacher, author, publisher, commentator, and some even know him as the “Governor.” Racer is the Communications Director at DCI-ClientServ and is the man behind most of the articles and publications that come out in our monthly newsletters and blogs.

Fox News 9 Top Teacher Award.

While he continues to submit many articles to different news platforms, there are 22 health care centered books that have been printed for which he has been the author, co-author, or editor. It leaves us safe to say, he is well-versed in the tension between government-dictated health care and privately-insured health care matters. Those 600+ page health care reform bills don’t make it far without getting the Racer Review or the Racer Breakdown.

Those are a few of his accomplishments as a successful professional, making good use of his MLitt (Master’s in Letters).

One of his most recent accomplishments and acknowledgements happened on April 26, when Fox 9 News recognized Dave as one of Minnesota’s Top Teachers. The classroom is where he acquired the title “Governor.” His students’ families from Mid-Metro Academy where he teaches American Civics nominated Dave for this honor. It is there that he employs a unique style and teaching strategy leading a class called Student Senate. He brings civics education to life for these students.

Upon earning the title “Top Teacher,” he received a wonderful trophy, $1,000 for classroom supplies and a Papa Murphy’s pizza party for up to 30 guests.
